The August 29 flash flood disrupted inner-canyon and Grand Canyon river operations, and current official information is changing quickly. That disruption does not describe every Colorado River experience in northern Arizona—for example, Page smooth-water trips operate upstream in Glen Canyon. For any Grand Canyon-based rafting or river itinerary, confirm the exact departure directly with the operator and current National Park Service river information before travel. Schedules, seasonal operating dates, transportation and package details can change quickly.
Peach Springs: Hualapai Whitewater
Hualapai River Runners operates the Grand Canyon's single-day motorized whitewater rafting experience from Peach Springs. The current trip operates seasonally, travels the lower canyon by raft, includes Hualapai interpretation and a stop at Travertine Falls, and currently uses a helicopter lift-out as part of the package. The important planning detail: this trip is based in Peach Springs—not at the Skywalk. Grand Canyon West notes that the rafting operation is about a two-hour drive from the main Grand Canyon West visitor area.

The route is upstream of the point where Grand Canyon National Park begins at Lees Ferry, making it a good choice for travelers who want time on the Colorado River without rapids.
